Worldwide Medical Insurance question by David: Will you have your son circumcised?
Most medical experts agree that circumcision is not medically necessary. Worldwide, most men are not circumcised at birth except for the U.S., Korea and the Philippines (which had huge U.S. cultural impact in the past), and Muslim and Jewish-majority countries. Regardless, the numbers are going down as people become more aware of the risks of complication, the fact that medical insurance generally does not cover it for cosmetic reasons, and that the practice in America is based on myth and tradition. However, scientists have recently discovered that circumcising all the men in Africa will reduce the number of AIDS related deaths by over 2 million.

So if and when you have a son, will you choose to have him circumcised or not, and why?

I have 2 boys and had them both circumcised.. I am a nurse and have witnessed first hand the dangers of foreskin related infections. I believe that it is a safer practice and easier for men to keep this area clean when there is no foreskin.. I can see why the AIDS related deaths would drop as this is a source of infection and AIDS effects the immune system. This will not, however, prevent the spread of AIDS unless they use a condom. Thanks for the question and I hope I helped you with an answer to compare to.
